The story of TSS started in 1994 when Willie le Hanie built a small oil purification plant on the back of an old Datsun truck. This budding entrepreneur had convinced his wife to invest a portion of her pension money in his new business. At the time, the company only had four staff members and it was almost six months before the company started showing a profit.


When TSS celebrated its 10 year anniversary in 2004, it had grown to employ over 100 staff members, with thriving branches in Heidelberg (Gauteng), Richards Bay and Durban (KwaZulu-Natal). Its business network reaches across South Africa to Namibia, Swaziland, Mozambique, Botswana and Angola. It also exports to Kenya, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Nigeria.
