详细信息
Wilson Transformer Company has the capability, capacity, and experience to design and manufacture special transformers for specific applications that are unique in specification and requirement.
Some Special Transformers include:

Rectifier & Furnace Transformers that are used in special industrial applications such as smelting and processing operations. Due to their onerous operating requirements, the products require detailed electrical / mechanical simulation and a very robust construction so that and the units can withstand very onerous operating and environment conditions.

These transformers require detailed electro/mechanical simulation analysis. We have supplied units with up to 65kA continuous output with and suitable for operating in harsh environments.

Voltage Regulating Transformers with outputs as high as 360MVA have been supplied to industrial plants, transmission and distribution networks, to regulate the output voltage to a defined level. We have the engineering capability, experience, and proven track record to engineer and build these very complex units.

Trackside and Onboard Rail Transformers with high voltage windings at 220kV, 132kV and 50kVhave been supplied in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom for heavy freight applications, mainline rail and suburban train applications. These transformers are subjected to very onerous operating conditions such as high switching voltages, surges of current and short circuits. They therefore need to be of rugged construction and designed to meet these very onerous conditions. We have also designed and manufactured Onboard Locomotive transformers.

Mobile Transformers that are suitable for mounting on trailers. This solution can include a self-contained system transformer substation incorporating HV and LV switchgear, protection and control equipment. The substations are designed for ease of transport and quick connection following an unexpected outage or for use when performing a mid-life refurbishment on a single zone substation where supply is critical.

Key features and benefits:

Ideal for emergency situations and rapid response
Rugged but light design to facilitate transport
Compact low profile design for ease of transport
Multiple voltage levels if required for various site configurations
Quad Boosters, also known as phase-shifting transformers (PST), that are used to control the flow of real power on three-phase electricity networks. The technology is mostly used in the transmission networks where there is a capacity constraint in one or more of the parallel circuits, however we have manufactured and installed a 30MVA unit in the distribution network.

Key features and benefits:

Two-core design with its flexibility to control OLTC step voltage and current
Use of traditional transformer technology
Balances the load
Improves the utilisation of existing assets
FM Approved distribution transformer solutions that comply with ANSI/IEEE C57.12.00 and FM Approval Standard 3990 for liquid insulated transformers. These solutions offer substantial fire safety with high flash and fire points of >300°C; the increased resilience of this type of additional protection may lower your property insurance costs.

Key features and benefits:

Increased fire safety
Reduced clearance and transformer installation footprint
Reduced civil engineering costs
Extended transformer life
Increased transformer overloading limits above nameplate
Increased environmental protection
